ITP - Internal Tank Platform
The ITP is a system of 4 aerial work platforms making access easier in tanks and holds on tankers, bulk carriers and container ships. At present, corrosion protection work on existing fleets of ships and when building new ships is carried out either from scaffolding or cherry pickers that have restrictions on use.
Scaffolding involves disadvantages primarily due to the time and resources required.
Long lay times cause high costs for the shipping companies due to the ship’s non-availability. The fast installation of an ITP drastically cuts the time and resources required.
A tank opening in the deck of only 0.8 m x 1.3 m is sufficient for installation of the ITP. Once successfully installed, work can be carried out from each of the 4 independent workman baskets. They are easy to control thanks to the remote control system in each workman basket.
